OVA Hall of Fame: Furlani Legends (Paul Brownstein)

Posted on 06/11/2018

In the late 1960's, Paul Brownstein served as Coaching and Development Chairman for the OVA and was selected as the Canada Games coach for Ontario. Following the Games, Paul recognized a need for additional venues for intense volleyball instruction and worked to establish various development camps.

This initiative eventually led to the foundation of Madawaska - Ontario's premier residential volleyball camp. For over 30 years, Paul and his wife Shelley operated the camp together with thousands of athletes and coaches from around the world attending. Thought the couple retire in 2006, their legacy lives on through Madawaska to this day.
