Over the past 40 plus years, Brenda has worked on behalf of volleyball in nearly every capacity imaginable: as a player, coach, referee, administrator, event host, clinician, mentor and educator, and most notably, as a volunteer. Though recently retired from her position as Men's Head Coach at Queen's University, she has the distinction of being the only female Head Coach of a men's college or university volleyball team in Canada. Her tenure at Queen's followed coaching positions with Wilfrid Laurier, University of Guelph, Team Ontario and Team Canada. In addition to founding the Waterloo Volleyball Club, Brenda served multiple executive roles with the OVA and Volleyball Canada, including President of the OVA from 1999 to 2009. Brenda has been decorated with numerous awards including 5 time OUA Coach of the Year, OVA Coach of the Year and Volunteer of the Year, a Special Achievement Award from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Recreation and 3M Coaching Award Winner.
