Margo Malowney | OVA Hall of Fame Class of 2025 (Athlete)

From Mississauga’s high school courts to the world stage of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Margo Malowney’s journey is a story of vision, courage, and relentless drive. A multi-sport athlete who found her calling in volleyball, Margo became a trailblazer for Canadian beach volleyball—helping form Canada’s first-ever women’s team on the FIVB World Tour and going on to make history by competing in the inaugural Olympic beach volleyball tournament. Along the way, she trained on Bondi Beach, battled the world’s best in iconic global venues, and etched her name into Olympic lore with one of the longest matches ever played at the Games.

Margo’s impact didn’t end when she left the court. A leader in sport and business, she has continued to inspire as a mentor, advocate, and pioneer. Her induction into the OVA Hall of Fame – Athlete Category, Class of 2025, celebrates not just her achievements, but the path she paved for generations to come. Congratulations, Margo!
