Welcome (Back) to Waterloo!

On behalf of Explore Waterloo Region and our municipal and hospitality partners – Welcome Back to Waterloo! We’re thrilled to have you here for the 2024 Ontario Volleyball Championships.

Waterloo has been fortunate to host Ontario Volleyball since 2007, welcoming thousands of teams and visitors over almost 20 years. This year, we are proud to welcome the 750 teams who will be competing at RIM Park and Conestoga College throughout five weekends.

Waterloo Region is located on the Haldimand Tract, on the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee, Anishnaabe and Neutral People. With a population of over 650,000, Waterloo Region is home to major technology and educational organizations including three world-class post-secondary institutions. Our community blends innovation and urban settings with small towns and rural landscapes. While you’re in Waterloo Region you will find all the big city amenities you need, together with the small-town hospitality and support we're known for.

Waterloo Region is quickly growing as a centre of sporting excellence. We’re home to the Kitchener Rangers (OHL), KW Titans (BSL) and the Kitchener Panthers (IBL), along with best-in-class sports clubs and varsity athletics. In recent years Waterloo Region has hosted the Canadian Wrestling Championships, Canada Soccer Toyota National Championships, Hockey Canada’s Rivalry Series, PGA Canada Mackenzie Tour and many, many more top tier sporting events.

We encourage you to explore our community during your stay. Visit the charming Village of St. Jacobs, enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants in Uptown Waterloo or take some time to relax as your wander along our many trails and explore our scenic outdoor spaces. To discover all that awaits you, visit explorewaterloo.ca. You can also follow us on social at @explorewrsports (and be sure and tag us using #exploreWR).

To all of the athletes participating in this year’s OVA Championships in Waterloo, we wish you all the best, and thank you for bringing the best volleyball in Ontario to Waterloo Region.

See you on the court,
