Coach & Team Check-In Guide – 2026 Ontario Championships



Coach Check-In is mandatory for all teams competing at Ontario Championships. Please review your event location and wave carefully to ensure you arrive at the correct time.


Toronto Check-In

All coaches for teams playing in the AM wave must check in the evening before Day 1.
PM wave teams must check in the morning of Day 1 competition.

Event 1 – April 16–18 (TLSB, 15UG, 17U)

  • AM Teams: April 15, 2026 | 5:00PM–9:00PM
  • PM Teams: April 16, 2026 | 11:00AM–3:00PM

Event 2 – April 19–21 (6v6G, TLSG, 15UB)

  • AM Teams: April 18, 2026 | 2:00PM–6:00PM
  • PM Teams: April 19, 2026 | 11:00AM–3:00PM

Event 3 – April 23–25 (6v6B, 16U, 18U)

  • AM Teams: April 22, 2026 | 5:00PM–9:00PM
  • PM Teams: April 23, 2026 | 11:00AM–3:00PM

Niagara Team Check-In

Dates & Times

  • Saturday, March 28, 2026: 3:00PM–7:00PM
  • Sunday, March 29, 2026: 11:00AM–3:00PM

AM teams check in the evening before.
PM teams check in the morning of Day 1 competition.


What Happens at Check-In?

Coaches must complete the following:

Verify Coach Eligibility

  • Provide NCCP numbers upon request
  • Be prepared to show proof of certification status
  • Ensure all coaches meet OVA Coach Eligibility Policy

You can print your NCCP transcript via the Coaching Association of Canada (The Locker).

Confirm & Finalize Official Roster

At check-in, coaches must:

  • Remove any athletes or staff not attending
  • Sign off confirming roster accuracy
  • Ensure all participating members are listed

⚠️ The official roster must be presented to the scorekeeper before every single match.

If lost, visit OVA HQ for a reprint.

This roster:

  • Is used for the full duration of the tournament
  • Is forwarded to Volleyball Canada for National Championships check-in
  • Must include all athletes/coaches intending to compete at Nationals

Respect in Sport Verification

Event staff will verify that all athletes have completed the Respect in Sport module.

If incomplete:

  • The athlete will be scratched
  • They cannot participate until completed
  • The roster must be brought back to OVA HQ for re-verification

Provide Required Information

  • Emergency contact information
  • Identify your team’s concussion protocol designate
  • Provide written acknowledgment confirming understanding of:
    • 2026 OC Team Handbook
    • 2025–26 Youth Competition Manual
    • 2025–26 Volleyball Canada Rulebook
    • OVA Code of Conduct

Pick Up Materials

  • Team bag
  • Award of Excellence medal

Important Eligibility Policies

If a Head Coach Is Ineligible:

  • They cannot participate until eligibility is complete
  • Another eligible Head Coach must attend
  • Matches will be forfeited until eligibility is resolved
  • If an ineligible coach participates, the match is automatically forfeited

Every team must have at least one eligible Head Coach on the bench.


If an Assistant Coach Is Ineligible:

  • They may not sit on the bench until eligibility is complete


Bench & Personnel Reminder

  • MRS allows up to 12 team personnel
  • Only 4 individuals may be on the bench/scoresheet per match

The Head Coach must carry the official roster at all times for verification by tournament officials.


Final Reminder

Failure to complete check-in properly or meet eligibility requirements may result in:

  • Removal from bench
  • Scratched athletes
  • Match forfeits
