Wally Dyba has helped shape volleyball in Ontario through coaching, education, mentorship, and a lifelong commitment to learning for over 50 years.
After beginning his coaching career in the 1970s, Dyba went on to lead the York University men's volleyball program for decades, guiding conference championship teams while helping elevate the profile of university volleyball across Canada.
He dedicated his career to sharing knowledge with athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers. Through clinics, camps, certification programs, publications, and countless conversations, he helped generations of volleyball leaders develop their understanding of the game.
In 2026, Wally Dyba was inducted into the Ontario Volleyball Association Hall of Fame in the Coach Category, recognizing a lifetime spent teaching, building, and strengthening volleyball in Ontario and across Canada.
