Beginning her refereeing journey as a teenager in Belleville, Watkins quickly discovered a passion for the game from the official's perspective. Over the years, she advanced through the refereeing ranks while taking on leadership roles that helped shape the referee community across Durham Region and beyond.
As Regional Referee Chair for Region 4, Watkins built a culture centered on mentorship, education, and support, helping hundreds of referees develop their skills and confidence. Over countless hours of volunteer service, she dedicated herself to ensuring officials at every stage of their journey felt welcomed and prepared to succeed.
In 2026, Lynn Watkins was inducted into the Ontario Volleyball Association Hall of Fame in the Referee Category, recognizing a lifetime of service to officiating and her lasting impact on the volleyball community throughout Ontario.
